<ul class="wp-block-list"><li>chilli powder &#8211; little for sprinkling</li><li>salt &#8211; little for sprinkling</li><li>chat masala &#8211; little for sprinkling </li></ul>

<p></p>

<h4 class="wp-block-heading">Step by step instructions to make the masala peanut recipe</h4>

<p>Lets see the step by step instructions of the recipe with pictures.</p>

<h5 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Prepare the spice mix</strong></h5>

<p>To make the masala peanut, we need to prepare the spice mix first. For that, in a bowl add the gram flour / besan, rice flour.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="1024" src="https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut-1-1024x1024.jpg" alt="Peanut" class="wp-image-4856" srcset="https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut-1.jpg 1024w, https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut-1-500x500.jpg 500w, https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut-1-200x200.jpg 200w, https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut-1-768x768.jpg 768w, https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut-1-100x100.jpg 100w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>Add the corn flour, kashmiri chilli powder. Kashmiri chilli powder is used to give nice colour to the peanuts. if not you can use a pinch of red food color. But in order to avoid the food coloring, I have used the kashmiri chilli powder. If you dont have the kashmiri chilli powder, you can use the normal chilli powder, but reduce the amount to half its quantity.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="1024" src="https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut2-1024x1024.jpg" alt="Peanut" class="wp-image-4857" srcset="https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut2.jpg 1024w, https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut2-500x500.jpg 500w, https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut2-200x200.jpg 200w, https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut2-768x768.jpg 768w, https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut2-100x100.jpg 100w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>Then add the turmeric and the required amount of salt and Add the garam masala or the tikka masala. Adding tikka masala gives a light tangy taste to the peanuts. If you dont have, you can add the garam masala. But this step is purely optional.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="1024" src="https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut3-1024x1024.jpg" alt="Peanut" class="wp-image-4858" srcset="https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut3.jpg 1024w, https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut3-500x500.jpg 500w, https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut3-200x200.jpg 200w, https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut3-768x768.jpg 768w, https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut3-100x100.jpg 100w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>Include little asafoetida and cumin seeds. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="1024" src="https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut5-1024x1024.jpg" alt="Peanut" class="wp-image-4859" srcset="https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut5.jpg 1024w, https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut5-500x500.jpg 500w, https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut5-200x200.jpg 200w, https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut5-768x768.jpg 768w, https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut5-100x100.jpg 100w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>Also add the ginger garlic paste. Mix all the spices nicely.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="1024" src="https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut6-1024x1024.jpg" alt="Peanut" class="wp-image-4860" srcset="https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut6.jpg 1024w, https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut6-500x500.jpg 500w, https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut6-200x200.jpg 200w, https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut6-768x768.jpg 768w, https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut6-100x100.jpg 100w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>Now add the peanuts and mix well.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="1024" src="https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut7-1024x1024.jpg" alt="Peanut" class="wp-image-4861" srcset="https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut7.jpg 1024w, https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut7-500x500.jpg 500w, https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut7-200x200.jpg 200w, https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut7-768x768.jpg 768w, https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut7-100x100.jpg 100w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>To this add sprinkle water little by little and mix well. The flour should be well coated with the gram flour mixture. Do not add more water which will spoil the crispiness of the mixture.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="1024" src="https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut8-1024x1024.jpg" alt="Peanut" class="wp-image-4862" srcset="https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut8.jpg 1024w, https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut8-500x500.jpg 500w, https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut8-200x200.jpg 200w, https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut8-768x768.jpg 768w, https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut8-100x100.jpg 100w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>If you want you can add 1 tsp of ghee, which helps to retain the crispiness to the peanuts and gives very nice flavor. Here I forgot to add the ghee. Keep the mixture aside and lets start heating the oil.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="1024" src="https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut9-1024x1024.jpg" alt="Peanut" class="wp-image-4863" srcset="https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut9.jpg 1024w, https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut9-500x500.jpg 500w, https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut9-200x200.jpg 200w, https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut9-768x768.jpg 768w, https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut9-100x100.jpg 100w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<h5 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Deep frying</strong></h5>

<p>In order to deep fry the peanuts, add enough oil and heat it.</p>

<p>Add some crushed garlic, and fry till it turns light brown colour. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="1024" src="https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut10-1024x1024.jpg" alt="Peanut" class="wp-image-4864" srcset="https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut10.jpg 1024w, https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut10-500x500.jpg 500w, https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut10-200x200.jpg 200w, https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut10-768x768.jpg 768w, https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut10-100x100.jpg 100w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>once it turns light brown, filter oil and remove it. though this step is optional, it gives nice flavor to the peanuts. so i have added the garlic.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="1024" src="https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut11-1024x1024.jpg" alt="Peanut" class="wp-image-4873" srcset="https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut11.jpg 1024w, https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut11-500x500.jpg 500w, https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut11-200x200.jpg 200w, https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut11-768x768.jpg 768w, https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut11-100x100.jpg 100w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>Now turn the flame to low and drop the peanuts one by one slowly. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="1024" src="https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut12-1024x1024.jpg" alt="Peanut" class="wp-image-4865" srcset="https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut12.jpg 1024w, https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut12-500x500.jpg 500w, https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut12-200x200.jpg 200w, https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut12-768x768.jpg 768w, https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut12-100x100.jpg 100w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>Filter the oil and remove them.</p>

<p>Repeat the process for the remaining peanuts.</p>

<p>Once all the peanuts are fried, add the curry leaves and fry in the same oil. remove from oil and add to the masala peanuts.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="1024" src="https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut16-1024x1024.jpg" alt="Peanut" class="wp-image-4869" srcset="https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut16.jpg 1024w, https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut16-500x500.jpg 500w, https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut16-200x200.jpg 200w, https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut16-768x768.jpg 768w, https://www.akilaskitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Peanut16-100x100.jpg 100w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p><strong>Final touch</strong></p>

<p>You can store or serve the peanut now. but I want my peanuts to be more spicy. So for that, I have added little salt and chilli powder and gave a quick stir.</p>
