<p>This <strong>Garlic rice | poondu sadham</strong> is mostly prepared using the left over rice. It is not that it cannot be prepared using the freshly prepared rice. you can prepare with fresh rice by keeping the rice in fridge for 1 hr. </p>



<p><strong>Garlic rice | poondu sadham</strong> can be prepared in many ways at Indian homes and the recipe which we are going to see is the simplest way I can say. Also here we see how to make the poondu sadham in south Indian style.</p>



<p>Garlic has so many health benefits and many cuisines use them in variety of ways. It is good for the gastric problems, helps to increase the immunity and also increase the secretion of milk for the breast feeding mothers. </p>

To this add the chopped garlic and start frying them. For this siru poondu, small type garlic is good. If not  you can add the normal garlic.</div></li><li id="wprm-recipe-4834-step-0-1" class="wprm-recipe-instruction" style="list-style-type: decimal;"><div class="wprm-recipe-instruction-text" style="margin-bottom: 5px;">Add the urud dal and channa dal and start frying.</div></li><li id="wprm-recipe-4834-step-0-2" class="wprm-recipe-instruction" style="list-style-type: decimal;"><div class="wprm-recipe-instruction-text" style="margin-bottom: 5px;">For this recipe, the garlic need to be fried nicely and thats why I have added the garlic first.</div></li><li id="wprm-recipe-4834-step-0-3" class="wprm-recipe-instruction" style="list-style-type: decimal;"><div class="wprm-recipe-instruction-text" style="margin-bottom: 5px;">Now add the dry red chillies. <p>Now let us see the step by step instructions to prepare the recipe</p>



<h5 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Prepare the spice masala</strong></h5>



<p>In order to prepare this Garlic rice, in a pan, add coconut oil or sesame oil. To this add the chopped garlic and start frying them. For this siru poondu, small type garlic is good. If not  you can add the normal garlic.</p>

<p>For this recipe, the garlic need to be fried nicely and thats why I have added the garlic first. Now again fry for anither 2 to 3 min in low flame. </p>

It looks so damn easy and I immediately went out to try. I finished cooking within 15 min and I loved the taste. I gave to my daughter and she liked the taste but my son said he needs more spicy and asked me to modify the the dish to <b><a href="http://www.akilaskitchen.com/2013/07/prawn-roast-in-kerala-style-chemmeen.html" target="_blank">prawn roast</a></b> or <b><a href="http://www.akilaskitchen.com/2014/04/prawn-thokku-shrimp-thokku-eral-thokku.html" target="_blank">prawn thokku</a></b> with lots of Indian masalas. If he starts liking one taste, he always wants the same. But anyhow I loved the taste and finished this <b><i><span style="color: #990000;">Butter garlic prawns</span></i></b> as the side dish for plain rice.</span></p>

<li>Mix all the ingredients.</li>
<li>Can be saved in fridge for 3 to 4 days and used again later.</li>

<p><b>For Rolls</b></p>
<ul style="text-align: left;">
<li>In large pan, add the all purpose flour, mix the yeast, sugar and salt well.</li>
<li>Now add the butter and&nbsp;add the Milk, little by little and if needed, add the water little by little to make smooth soft dough.</li>
<li>Add oil, and knead the dough nicely until, it becomes soft.</li>
<li>Cover the dough with a wet cloth and leave it for 1 to 2 hrs or until it doubles in its size.</li>
<li>Now beat down the dough so that the air in dough goes off.</li>
<li>Divide the dough in to four equal parts and spread it with the garlic spread.</li>
<li>Now roll the dough and leave it for another 30 min in the baking pan.</li>
<li>Pre-heat the oven to 180 degree celcius.</li>
<li>Place the rolls in the oven and bake it for 20 to 25 min until, the aroma of garlic spread can be smelt.</li>
<li>Hot and Soft Garlic rolls are ready to be served.</li>
</ul>
